You know that you’ve been bitten by the athleisure bug if you can’t help but fantasize about what you would wear to the gym. Ever since the dawn of the 21st century, everyone has been on a health kick – and now it’s ventured into fashion! The trend is evolved past its original leggings-and-tee combo and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this casual, comfy look. Embrace this trend! Everyone is looking to start fresh in a New Year, so lace up your sneakers and head out into the world!
These are cute, comfy, and slip right on when you need to hurry out the door! They also incorporate one of my other favorite trends – leather. I’ve seen these all over the place, but some are a bit on the pricier side. If you’re balling on a budget like me, these Forever 21 knock offs are just as close to the real deal. These perforated ones are very cute if you can afford the splurge!
Designers left and right are dipping their fingers into this trend. Rebecca Minkoff is usually known for her lush leather handbags, but she just recently delved into the athleisure realm. I definitely want to give this cool mesh and neoprene sweatshirt a try.
I wouldn’t normally suggest just wearing a sports bra, but this is so cute – and borderline crop top material. I love these oatmeal leggings and I think they’d look really cute with this top. Throw on a hoodie and you’ve got yourself an outfit to wear outside of the gym!
Athleta has been around forever as part of Gap Inc. I love these green marbled leggings. What I love about wearing leggings is how comfy they are, yet they still cling to your body to look good. Not only are leggings great for athletic wear, but they’re good for the days you’re feeling a bit under the weather. Throw on a cozy sweater to finish the look and you’ll feel comfortable lounging all day – even if you decide to leave the house!
Tory Burch is even starting a new line called Tory Sport to keep up with the trend! For all of you preppy brand followers, Tory Sport is offering styles made for running, yoga, tennis, swim, and golf. I would love to snag this up for my next family tennis match – Love All!
I love mixing different fabrics together and these handy lil sneaks do just that. These are great for a grab and go outfit. Wrap yourself in a cardigan, an oversized tee, and mesh capri leggings and head on out for your coffee date.
Everyone seems to be getting in on this trend and I definitely don’t want to miss out. Some of my favorite designers are pairing with companies to work the athleisure market.
How do you plan on incorporating this trend into your weekly wardrobe?
